She decorates it on her own with her favourite accessories. A must have toy for every girl. My daughter loves this toy. She loves it.
It could easily be used to introduce the idea of fractions, although we have not played with it with that in mind. I am impressed with the quality of these toys. I expect that the cake set will be just as much fun.I rated this high on educational value because the set lends itself to many sorting and matching activities. When her male cousins visit, they enjoy the pizza set, too. She already has the Melissa and Doug Pizza set and was excited to get the birthday cake set. This was a gift for our two year old grandaughter. The pizza set has had real "staying power" and is one of her favorite kitchen toys. The children enjoy taking "orders" and then making custom cakes and pizzas.
The different toppings allow for lots of different cakes. Not a very educational toy but it is still a winner due to social play it encourages. My 3 year old twin girls use this for "parties" with their dolls and stuffed animals. The parts are very durable and the storage container allows for a nice neat pick-up.
It's nice to see a wooden toy instead of cheap plastic. that's her tho, not the toy. I wish it had some kind of case instead of the open top box, lots of peices we're trying to keep together.
Probably. I put most of them away for now, maybe later it will be fun and not just messy.~ You can't take a slice out without ruing the cake. Candles, and wooden circle to stick on the cake. Would I buy it for someone else. My 2 yr old got this as a birthday gift since friends knew she would be getting a kitchen for Christmas. It is:~ very durable~ adorable ~ fun to play with~ great gift What my gripes are:~ Toooooo many little pieces. very frustrating for my toddler.
